Terms of Service

1. Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using The Cold Line (“thecoldline.com,” “the Platform,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree, you must not use the Platform.

We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. Material changes will be communicated via email or in-platform notice.

2. Description of Service

The Cold Line is a sports betting analytics and information platform. We provide data-driven tools including:

• Cold Line Models — model-generated spreads, totals, and fair odds for NFL and MLB
• Plate Read — MLB at-bat prediction and edge analysis
• Edge Scanner — value bet detection across sportsbooks
• NextDown — live game analysis with situational predictions
• Bet Tracker — personal bet logging, CSV import, and performance analytics
• Weather & Wind Analysis — physics-based game environment context
• Odds Board — multi-sportsbook odds comparison across 19+ sports

The Cold Line is not a sportsbook. We do not accept, place, or facilitate wagers. We do not handle any funds. We provide information and analytics only.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 21 years of age (or the minimum legal gambling age in your jurisdiction, whichever is higher) to use the Platform. By creating an account, you represent and warrant that:

• You meet the minimum age requirement
• You are legally permitted to access sports betting information in your jurisdiction
• You will not use the Platform in any jurisdiction where such use is prohibited by law
• All information you provide during registration is accurate and complete

We reserve the right to request proof of age or identity at any time and to suspend or terminate accounts that do not meet eligibility requirements.

4. Account Registration and Security

Access to the Platform requires an account and may require an invitation code. You are responsible for:

• Maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials
• All activity that occurs under your account
• Notifying us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account

Single-session policy: Each account supports one active session at a time. If a new device tries to log in while another session is active, we warn you first and require confirmation before ending the existing session. If the takeover goes through, the displaced session is notified immediately. This is a security measure, not a restriction. Accounts are for individual use only.

Account sharing is prohibited. Each account is licensed to a single individual. Sharing credentials, distributing account access, or providing multi-user access to a single account violates these Terms and may result in account termination. Group or syndicate access is available at separate pricing — contact us for details.

5. No Guarantee of Results

Sports betting involves substantial risk of financial loss. No analytical model, tool, or prediction can guarantee winning outcomes.

The Cold Line provides probabilistic analysis based on statistical models. Our models, projections, edge calculations, and predictions are informational tools — not investment advice, financial advice, or guarantees of any kind. Past performance of any model or metric does not predict future results.

You acknowledge that:

• All betting decisions are yours alone
• Our models can be and will be wrong
• We are not liable for any losses you incur from bets placed based on information from the Platform
• Backtest results and historical accuracy metrics do not guarantee future performance
• Edge percentages and probability estimates are model outputs, not certainties

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use bots, scrapers, or automated tools to extract data from the Platform
• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code, algorithms, or model weights
• Redistribute, resell, or commercially exploit any data, predictions, or analytics from the Platform
• Share screenshots, exports, or model outputs publicly in a way that enables non-subscribers to access paid content
• Circumvent access controls, authentication, or rate limiting
• Use the Platform to harass, defame, or threaten other users in game chat
• Spam game chat — including repetitive, off-topic, promotional, or automated posting, excessive messaging intended to disrupt other users, or any unsolicited advertising or link-dropping
• Submit false, misleading, or offensive content
• Impersonate another person or entity
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other user accounts or administrative systems

Violation of these terms may result in immediate account termination without refund.

7. Intellectual Property

All content, models, algorithms, data compilations, software, visual design, branding, and analytics on the Platform are the exclusive intellectual property of The Cold Line. This includes but is not limited to:

• Cold Line spread and totals models (including calibration weights and formulas)
• Plate Read prediction model and distribution engine
• Edge Scanner detection algorithms and fair-odds calculations
• Total Read wind analysis methodology
• NextDown simulation and prediction engine
• All user interface designs, layouts, and visual assets

You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Platform for personal, non-commercial purposes only.

8. User-Generated Content

You may submit content through game chat, builds, bet logs, feedback forms, and questionnaires. By submitting content, you:

• Retain ownership of your content
• Grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, display, and store your content for Platform operations
• Acknowledge that chat messages are visible to other users and are not private
• Agree not to post content that is illegal, harmful, threatening, abusive, or infringes on intellectual property rights

We reserve the right to remove any content that violates these Terms without notice.

9. Third-Party Data and Services

The Platform incorporates data from third-party providers including sports statistics providers, odds aggregators, and weather services. This data is provided “as is” and we make no guarantees regarding its accuracy, completeness, or timeliness.

The Platform may reference sportsbook names, odds, and lines for informational purposes. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or partnered with any sportsbook unless explicitly stated.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, The Cold Line and its operators shall not be liable for:

• Any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Platform
• Financial losses from betting decisions made using information from the Platform
• Service interruptions, data loss, or inaccuracies in model outputs
• Unauthorized access to your account due to your failure to maintain credential security

The Platform is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied.

11. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account at any time, with or without cause, including for violation of these Terms, suspected account sharing, spamming game chat, or abusive behavior. Upon termination:

• Your right to access the Platform ceases immediately
• We may retain your data as required by law or for legitimate business purposes
• Provisions regarding intellectual property, limitation of liability, and dispute resolution survive termination

11.1 Appeals

Any account suspension or termination — including suspensions for spamming game chat, suspected account sharing, or other acceptable-use violations — may be appealed. To request a review, email support@thecoldline.com from the email address on the affected account and include:

• The account email and approximate date of suspension
• A brief explanation of why you believe the action should be reversed
• Any context you want us to consider (misidentification, compromised account, etc.)

We review appeals in the order received, typically within 5 business days. Reinstated accounts resume at the tier they held at suspension, with any remaining billing period honored. Decisions on appeal are final at our discretion.

12. Subscriptions & Billing

Paid plans are processed by LemonSqueezy (Lemon Squeezy US LLC) acting as our Merchant of Record. LemonSqueezy is responsible for payment processing, sales tax / VAT collection and remittance in 190+ countries, fraud prevention, and invoicing. Your payment method and billing address are collected and stored by LemonSqueezy, not by The Cold Line. Their processor-level terms govern the payment transaction itself: https://www.lemonsqueezy.com/terms.

Plan cadence. Subscriptions renew automatically on the same calendar day each month (monthly plans) or each year (annual plans). Annual plans are billed up front at a 30% discount off the equivalent 12-month monthly total. Your renewal date is shown on your account page and in the receipt emails sent by LemonSqueezy.

Cancellation. You can cancel at any time from the Account page. Cancellation stops future renewals; your access continues through the end of the already-paid billing period, after which your account reverts to the Free tier. Cancelling does not trigger an automatic refund of the current period.

Refunds. LemonSqueezy's standard refund window is 30 days from purchase. Refund requests for full or prorated amounts are handled case-by-case and can be initiated by replying to your LemonSqueezy receipt or contacting billing@thecoldline.com. We reserve the right to deny refunds in cases of suspected abuse, account sharing, or material violation of these Terms.

Price changes. We may change subscription pricing with at least 30 days' notice sent to the email on file. Changes apply at your next renewal. Founding Access members who locked in a grandfathered rate (for example, the $99.99/year Hall of Famer founder rate for Founding Access #1–20) keep that rate through 2028, provided the subscription remains active and in good standing.

Offshore Edge Scanner integration. The Offshore Edge Scanner add-on ($99.99 one-time setup fee + $9.99/month recurring) covers the work of wiring a user-nominated offshore sportsbook's feed into your personal Edge Scanner view. The $99.99 setup fee is non-refundable once admin confirms setup has begun (tracked per-row). Cancelling the $9.99 monthly subscription pauses the integration; the setup fee is not returned. This policy applies in addition to the standard 30-day refund window for the recurring charge prior to setup starting.

Failed payments. If a renewal payment fails, LemonSqueezy retries on their standard dunning schedule. If all retries fail, your subscription is cancelled and your account reverts to the Free tier. You can re-subscribe at any time at the then-current price.

Taxes. Because LemonSqueezy acts as Merchant of Record, applicable sales tax, VAT, or GST is collected at checkout based on your billing address. The price shown on /billing is the net subscription price; taxes are added at checkout.

Disputes & chargebacks. Initiating a chargeback for a valid subscription charge rather than contacting us first may result in permanent account termination. Please contact billing@thecoldline.com with any billing question before disputing with your card issuer.

13. Dispute Resolution

Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Platform shall be resolved through binding arbitration in accordance with the rules of the American Arbitration Association. You agree to waive any right to a jury trial or participation in a class action lawsuit.

14. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of New York, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
